Lyngen is located between the 69th and 70th latitude north along Northern Norways most spectacular coast line. It offers world class skiing and is unique in terms of access by boat and the high peaks. Traveling by sailboat among the Lyngen Alps, is an experience of a lifetime. We will sail a stunning well equipped 73 foot sailing yacht. Traveling with skis and sails will get you close to nature, wildlife and untouched powder. The weather and conditions can change quickly. For this reason we only use UIAGM certified ski guides who have local knowledge of the area. This way we can offer a flexible program, with the best knowledge, as well as ensuring safety. Our captain and crew on the boat is trained by the RYA in England, have good local knowledge and extensive international experience to ensure a sailing trip you will not forget.

S/Y SKYDANCER – 73’ Polar Expedition Sailing Boat

S/Y SkyDancer is a tailored made boat of steel for arctic sailing and sleeps up to 8 guests in high comfort cabins. Divided on 3 double bunk bed cabins and one 4-bunk cabin in the front. She has 2 large saloons. On the upper deck saloon you can enjoy the views in comfortable sofas, and there is another nice saloon down below where we have meals together, hang out, drink coffee and watch movies. There is also two guest bathrooms and one shower. The central heating throughout the Ship makes it warm, dry and comfortable on board. It also provides us with unlimited heated water for showers. To make sure we have fresh water at all times there’s a large tank together with a 300 liters pr/hour water-maker. She is equipped with all navigation aids and safety equipment for sailing in high arctic waters. The Ship has a cruising speed of 8-9 knots. Large generators ensure plenty of power for your laptop, camera etc…

Area of Operation:

All tours will be planned according to where we get the best conditions for skiing in the Lyngen region. The municipality is named after the Lyngen fjord (Old Norse: Lygnir). The name of the fjord is derived from the word logn which means «quiet, still, or calm». Depending on destination and current weather conditions, we will start the day with a good breakfast, organize our equipment and get ready to chase the powder. Most of the peaks are between 750-1800 m staring at the beach, and we will use approx. 6-8 hours round trip. We´ll enjoy the stunning views and the days in the mountains. When we are back down to the boat again, it’s time for dinner, chilling, fishing, sailing and planning the next day’s destination.
