Kuglhorn
A super combination with a Stetind tour
Kuglhorn is Stetinds less famous neighbor. But if you are more like us who appreciate the quality of the climbing over verticals gained, this might be your dream summit. We can promise you a memorable climb that you can’t wait to tell your friends about. The razor sharp ridge looks more like a dragons ridge than something possible to climb. But fear not, we guide this mega-classic at regular intervals.
Our guides will take care of you on this trip and always see that you are safe and comfortable. There are a lot of pitches to be climbed, and the level of difficulty increases as you get closer to the summit. But still its not necessarily your climbing skills, but more your ability to keep your nerves in check that matters on this one.
The trip starts with hiking up the world famous Verdenssvadet. A giant, granite slab that is an experience on its own. After reaching the col we put on the ropes and start climbing. From the summit its an easy hike down to the car.
We only use certified IFMGA Mountain Guides or IFMGA aspirant guides on this spectacular climb. This is the highest certification in the world when it comes to mountaineering and climbing. It also guarantees you a safe and memorable day.
Efjordegga
A longer variation of this ridge is to start further east by first climbing Peak 770, then Kuglhorn, and finish up Sildpolltinds summit in the west. Its a long alpine route where you always follow and stay on top of the ridge. Its also necessary to do one bivouack along the ridge. This 2-day adventure is for those who really want to suck out the best of the best granite, ridge climbing there is up north.
The guide will contact you some days before to discuss the plan for the climb. You will meet the guide early in the morning at a given location you have agreed on. Usually the parking at the trailhead.
The approach are an approximately 2 hour hike up to the col.
We put on the rope at the col and scramble and climb to the summit. We will return on the other side of the mountain.
The descent has some scrambling at the top, then a nice walk out through the pine forest.
