Presten - The West Pillar
One of the best 5.10's in the world?
Presten “The Priest” is a 500m pillar of beautiful granite straight up from the ocean. The most famous and sought after route in Lofoten, and likely one of the best long free climbs you will ever do. A short approach, pitch after pitch of fun and varied climbing, all on a clean granite wall rising above the emerald waters of the Norwegian Sea.
Presten is a few minutes down the road from Henningsvær, a classic little fishing village taken over by outdoor enthusiast in the summer months. The West Pillar is a 12 pitch route and has fantastic rock climbing up to US 5.10/ NO 6/ FR 6a+. A must do climb if you have the skill while in Lofoten.
